Meet the Owner
After graduating college in 1996 from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, with a Bachelor of Business Administration, it was time to look for a job in the “real world.” Steve Wolfgram had worked as a carpenter for a custom home builder while attending college and upon graduation completed an internship with a large corporation in Human Resources. After the internship concluded, he found himself looking for a job at the bottom of the corporate ladder. An office position opened up with Sesing Construction, Inc., (the builder Steve had worked for while attending college) and has been in the residential home building business ever since.
Steve worked four years as a Project Manager with Sesing Construction of Fond du Lac, WI. Sesing was a Custom Home Builder known for its design & quality craftsmanship. Steve was then lured away by Winfield Homes, a start-up company also located in Fond du Lac, WI. Winfield held many of the core business values Steve carries with him today. It was there that he honed his craft as a Custom Home Builder.
Steve’s responsibilities with Winfield included Customer Service and Warranty. He was responsible for all contact with the customer during and after their home was built. The goal was to gain a positive image for the company, an image that could only be obtained with outstanding customer service. It also bears noting that Steve did build two homes of his own during his time with Winfield. This helped him understand the values and desires that an owner needs and wants during the construction process.
Having come full circle from a carpenter to a Project Manager to a Home Owner, Steve Wolfgram was ready to put his experience to work for himself. With a degree in Business and a career in Custom Homes, JALYN HOMES was born. The name Jalyn Homes originated from Steve’s wife, Jamie Lynn.
Family is what brought Steve to Eastern Tennessee. Jamie’s parents had been looking for a place to retire. Like many of you, they settled on Tellico Village. Tellico Village is a unique community that is surrounded by the Great Smoky Mountains and has plenty of lifestyle opportunities for self-expression and engagement. With three golf courses, rec-center, and countless other activities along with that panoramic view of the Smokies, it’s great place for anyone to live.
Anxious to see the area for themselves, Steve and Jamie would visit Eastern Tennessee in the spring of 2005 and see for themselves the natural beauty of the area. It was an easy decision after that. There was no doubt that there would be plenty of opportunity for a builder in Eastern Tennessee. Besides, what a great excuse to get away from the Wisconsin Winters BURRR!
